Australian Building Services Home Owners Warranty P/L is the only company in N.S.W that has a contract with the N.S.W. Government Managed Builder Program (M.B.P.) and can also offer all other builder construction insurances at very competitive rates.

The History of the Managed Builder Program

It was 2003 that the creation of the MBP was born. The creator and mind set of this concept was Australian Building Services Home Owners Warranty Managing Director and owner Phil Sim. Phil realised the market and consumer needs to manage new builders who have just obtained their builders licence, builders who do not have strong financial backing or builders moving to larger projects.

Phil himself a fully licenced builder had for years worked on the idea that new & younger builders needed help and after knocking on dozens of door Lumley Insurance saw the positive protections of minimised risk to the insurer and decided to underwrite the concept. As the saying goes, the rest is history.

ABSHOW ran this concept in the private sector for 7years, Wesfarmer (Lumley) underwrote this MBP concept. The NSW government (under Labor) changed the rules that as from the 1st of July 2010 would take over the running of Home Warranty for New South Wales, including the running of their our MBP program.

Over the 7years that ABS ran this MBP in the private sector it was seen by the NSW Govt. as an excellent way of helping & managing builders. It was inevitable that it was only a matter of time before the Govt. took this MBP Program for its own.

There is no other Manager Builder Provider that has the experience and expertise as that of Australian Building Services who always puts the builders interest first & last.

The staff of ABS are all trained to assist and answer all builders questions.

The NSW Govt. has taken the principals from the ABS Managed Builder Program to form their own and after 1year the jury is still out if it is working as well as the complete programme of ABS.

It is always a concern when Governments take something from the private sector and then try to put it as their own. Australian Building Services Home Owners Warranty now has a contract with the NSW govt. to run this programme.
